MRO Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) inventory management, procurement activities, invoice processing, cycle count execution, and warehouse operations to ensure uninterrupted support of plant maintenance activities. This position provides leadership to MRO personnel, drives inventory accuracy, manages supplier relationships, and ensures accountability for all MRO processes. The MRO Supervisor is expected to foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
EssentialFunctions Inventory Management and Control (20%)
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure inventory integrity through effective cycle count and audit programs.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure critical spare parts are available to support maintenance operations.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Reduce inventory variances and improve overall inventory accuracy through process discipline and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all inventory transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the procurement of MRO materials and services to meet operational requirements.
- Ensure invoices are processed accurately and within established timelines.
- Manage supplier relationships, including vendor-managed inventory programs and key suppliers such as Fastenal.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements.
- Supervise and develop MRO staff by establishing clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability measures.
- Provide training and coaching to ensure employees understand and follow MRO processes.
- Take ownership of departmental performance and results.
- Ensure team members perform inventory control activities accurately and consistently.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Manage inventory assets responsibly to minimize write-offs, obsolescence, and unnecessary expenditures.
- Monitor inventory-related financial performance and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
- Support annual budgeting processes and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ensure inventory records support accurate financial reporting.
- Partner closely with Maintenance Managers, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure parts availability and process alignment.
- Communicate inventory concerns, usage trends, and process improvement opportunities effectively.
- Provide training and guidance on inventory reports, material issuance processes, and inventory controls.
