Production Supervisor - Building Insulation Products

Overview

This position has the responsibility for hiring, leading and supporting employees in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment is necessary. Responsible for employee safety, quality and productivity of assigned operations. This is a working on-the-floor position that requires daily mobility while working with production employees. The main objective is to ensure that production needs are completed to meet Cellofoam standards and that Cellofoam requirements are met and recorded as needed.

• Safety first – demonstrate a strong commitment to following all safety standards, procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
• Directing employees including assigning job duties, ensuring KPIs are met and recorded daily. Support and ensure produced product meets Cellofoam Quality specifications and requirements. Complete daily production reports and shift paperwork as required.
• General understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
• Supervise and verify equipment setup prior to start of a production run; operate and shut down manufacturing equipment as needed.
• Verify order information and produce parts with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet specific job requirements while meeting productivity standards.
• Ensure machine startup, monitor operations, and record operational data.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Coach, develop, counsel, and discipline employees as required.
• Perform other production duties as requested by supervisor.
• Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve issues.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others.
• Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding plant or employee concerns.
• Maintain working knowledge and full compliance with corporate standards for business conduct and applicable laws.

• High School diploma or GED
• Associate Degree or equivalent leadership manufacturing experience

• Good communication skills
• Ability to lead, direct and train others to perform assigned tasks
• Support and optimize production output driving continuous improvement
• Mechanical:
  General knowledge of machinery and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Ability to use and articulate measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, weigh scales)
• Quality Control and Analysis:
  Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
• Troubleshooting:
  Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it

• 1 to 3 years of prior experience in a manufacturing management environment
• Organizational, communication and team-building skills

• Computer proficiency
• Ability to read and understand CAD and blueprints preferred

• Flexibility in working hours to include nights, weekends and holidays as required
• Floor production position – working in production environment majority of the time
• Overtime work may be required
