The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory across all warehouse and production areas s role performs cycle counts, reconciles discrepancies, maintains inventory locations, and supports material flow throughout the plant. The Inventory Specialist ensures materials are properly stored, identified, and available to support production. This position also assists with receiving, material movement, and shipping activities as needed. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, inventory system knowledge, and the adaptability to learn and apply new processes or systems.
InventoryControl & Cycle Counting
- Perform daily and scheduled cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies by reviewing system transactions, validating counts, and performing investigations.
- Report and document inventory variances, shortages, and overages.
- Assist with corrective actions related to part shortages or recurrent errors.
- Participate in all physical inventory activities, including preparation and reconciliation.
- Implement and maintain inventory location plans.
- Establish new locations and ensure all materials are stored, labeled, and tracked correctly.
- Ensure items are properly identified and physically organized for efficient access.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and 5S standards across all inventory storage areas.
- Control, inspect, and locate materials throughout the plant.
- Unload incoming freight and stage materials as required.
- Move materials from receiving to production lines or storage locations.
- Transfer materials from fabrication to production, and finished goods to the shipping dock.
- Load outbound freight and support shipping activities as needed.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other approved material‑handling equipment in a safe manner.
- Maintain safe and clean working areas, including aisles, docks, and storage locations.
- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of inventory control or audit experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Valid forklift license (certification required for continued employment).
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with auditing processes and product verification.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong math skills, reading skills, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the company’s parts and finished products.
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and collaboratively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with manufacturing inventory systems (ERP or similar).
- High level of trainability and adaptability.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.
