Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance
Location: Conyers, GA
Salary: Based on Experience

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager
The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technician supports the Maintenance Department in ensuring sheet metal manufacturing equipment, tooling, and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role assists with preventive maintenance tasks, basic troubleshooting, equipment repairs, and general facility upkeep to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive maintenance on sheet metal fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, laser cutters, turret punches, roll formers, and welding equipment
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems under the guidance of senior maintenance personnel
- Complete basic repairs such as replacing belts, bearings, hoses, filters, and lubricating machinery
- Support equipment inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop, tools, parts inventory, and work areas
- Assist with facility maintenance including lighting, doors, compressed air systems, and general building upkeep
- Accurately complete maintenance work orders and document tasks performed
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices
- Assist with installation, relocation, and upgrades of production equipment
- Communicate equipment issues, downtime risks, and safety concerns to maintenance and production leadership
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop industrial maintenance skills
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, work instructions, and safety procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication equipment
- Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Trade school certification, technical training, or apprenticeship experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to work around moving machinery, moderate to high noise levels, dust, and varying temperatures
