Job Title:
Capital Project Manager

Our client offers an opportunity to lead impactful capital projects and process improvement initiatives, partnering closely with production, maintenance, and outside vendors. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a project manager looking to advance operational performance, ensure safe and efficient equipment implementation, and play a key part in the ongoing success and growth within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:- Lead capital projects involving material handling systems, production equipment, facility improvements, and process upgrades.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and implementation plans for manufacturing initiatives.
- Coordinate vendors, suppliers, contractors, maintenance teams, and production personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring milestones, budget targets, and operational objectives are achieved on schedule.
- Support equipment commissioning, startup, and implementation activities to achieve operational readiness.
- Identify opportunities for productivity, safety, and efficiency enhancements and support continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
- Utilize maintenance and project management software to track work orders, maintain documentation, and communicate status updates to management.
- Serve as liaison between manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and external suppliers, supporting troubleshooting and resolution of equipment and material flow issues.
Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing, compounding, injection molding, extrusion, or related industrial operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing capital projects, equipment installations, or process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of material handling systems and manufacturing workflows.
- Experience coordinating suppliers, contractors, and cross‑functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.
- Proficiency with maintenance and project management software platforms.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
Skills:
- Experience in plastics compounding, colorant blending, or resin processing environments.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of standardization of manufacturing processes and operating procedures.
