Manual Lathe Machinist

- Base Salary to 35.00/hour

Our client is a well-established precision manufacturing company with more than 40 years of industry experience. The company operates a modern, continuously growing machine shop and regularly invests in new equipment, technology, and employee development. They are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to join their team.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate manual lathe equipment to produce precision-machined components.
- Machine parts to tight tolerances using conventional manual turning equipment.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds based on material specifications.
- Perform turning operations including facing, boring, threading, grooving, drilling, and finishing as required.
- Machine materials including aluminum, stainless steel, tool steels, plastics, titanium, and other production alloys.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and shop orders.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and related inspection tools.
- Adjust machine setups and offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make process adjustments as needed.
- Accurately document production information, inspection results, and machine adjustments.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area while following safety and 5S standards.
- Meet daily production, quality, and delivery expectations within a high-volume precision manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of hands-on manual lathe machining experience.
- Ability to machine parts to tight tolerances.
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, tool steels, plastics, titanium, and similar alloys.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and shop orders.
- Experience performing manual turning operations such as facing, boring, threading, grooving, and drilling.
- Ability to independently set up manual lathe equipment and select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
