Shipping Technician Position Summary
The Shipping Technician will support the 2nd shift (3 pm–11 pm) operations at Corrugated Supplies Co. The role involves ensuring effective and efficient product movement, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and providing exceptional customer service and on‑time delivery. Entry‑level Team Support Technicians receive training over five‑to‑seven years to attain Tech A status, responsible for running highly technical processes and equipment.

- Work safely at all times. Wear proper PPE and comply with safety policies.
- Inspect trailers prior to loading to ensure they are free of debris.
- Load or assist loading product into trailers following shipping instructions.
- Scan product back into inventory post‑shipping.
- Unload or assist in unloading finished product in or from trailers following shipping instructions.
- Inspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and correct before leaving.
- Verify count while a truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customers.
- Perform daily truck inspections and report maintenance items immediately.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment; perform housekeeping.
- Ensure product quality, cost, and production goals are met.
- Exercise common courtesy and respect to build positive team relationships.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities relating to safety, housekeeping, quality, cost, production, and team.
- Respond to emergency issues, including troubleshooting and cleanup to minimize hazards, loss of quality, production, and downtime.
- Have good communication skills and interact effectively with all levels of plant operations and facility management.
- Share knowledge and learn from the rest of the team.
- Duties and responsibilities may change based on business needs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Job‑related certifications required.
- Forklift experience required. Current certification a plus.
- Prior experience in the corrugated industry or manufacturing floor.
- Related military training or experience.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Basic computer operations.
- Experience and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Self‑motivated, dependable, punctual, and organized.
- Working understanding of spoken English.
- Working understanding of written English.
- Ability to read and use a non‑metric measuring tape.
- Ability to count and perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods and maintain balance on narrow walkways.
- Ability to operate powered industrial trucks.
- Ability to reach vertically and horizontally with hands and arms.
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Display required visual abilities (close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus).
- Display required auditory abilities per OSHA.
- Workspace is not climate controlled and can reach extremes (30 °F – 110 °F).
- Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasional exposure to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
- Exposure to consistently loud work environment.
