Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Description
Compensation: $33.88 to $38.24 an hour - paid weekly
Shift Availability: 12-hour shifts, 2-2-3 schedule
Position OverviewThe position is responsible for all machine maintenance as needed, including preventative maintenance, repair of production equipment, utilities, and facilities. The role includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair. A strong manufacturing background with mechanical aptitude and process troubleshooting skills is required; electrical skills are desired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance work on automation equipment.
- Perform maintenance, set-up, and preventive maintenance on automation/production equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment-related processing issues.
- Utilize a computer-based inventory system for generating reports and locating spare parts.
- Perform maintenance connection day‑by‑day duties.
- Assist maintenance/production staff as needed.
- May assist in the training of other employees.
- Perform quality work within reasonable time standards set by management in verbal or written instructions.
- Utilize mandatory safety equipment; execute duties safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
- Be flexible with the schedule as needed.
- Ensure areas of responsibility are safe, clean, and tidy.
- Follow all company-established rules and policies.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience with VFDs, servo motors, and PLCs.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Teamwork, judgment, motivation, planning, organization, professionalism, quality focus, safety orientation, adaptability, attendance, punctuality, dependability, and initiative.
- HS diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree is preferred.
- Own tools and ability to use them safely and effectively.
- 3+ years of technician experience in industrial maintenance; preferred experience in the plastics industry.
