Commercial Fabrication Technician

Role Description The Commercial Fabrication Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Conyers, GA. The technician will fabricate, assemble, and prepare metal and glass components for commercial storefronts, curtain walls, and custom enclosures, following shop drawings and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include operating fabrication and machining equipment, performing welding and metal preparation, inspecting materials and finished products for quality, and coordinating with project managers or installers to meet project timelines.

The role also involves maintaining tools and equipment, organizing the work area, and completing documentation related to measurements, materials, and production processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial glass and metal fabrication shop
• Knowledge of glass and aluminum fabrication
• Able to lift 75+ lbs
• Reliable attendance and attenention to detail
• Candidates should possess Machining and related equipment operation skills for cutting, drilling, and shaping metal and glass materials accurately.
• Candidates should possess Quality Control skills to inspect materials, verify measurements, and ensure finished products meet specifications and safety standards.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for collaborating with supervisors, installers, and team members and for following written and verbal instructions.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in commercial glass or construction environments, ability to read shop drawings and blueprints, basic math and measurement skills, and adherence to safety procedures.
• Physical ability to lift and move glass and metal materials, stand for extended periods, and use hand and power tools safely is required.
