Dover Food Retail is seeking an experienced Master Production Scheduler to lead production scheduling and planning activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role serves as the critical link between Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Operations to ensure customer demand is balanced with manufacturing capacity, material availability, and inventory objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can manage shifting priorities, analyze trends, influence cross-functional teams, and drive schedule stability while supporting business and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts, customer orders, inventory targets, and production capacity.
- Balance labor, machine, material, and supplier constraints to drive on-time delivery performance.
- Partner closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Customer Service to communicate priorities and manage schedule changes.
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and replenishment requirements while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Leverage ERP/MRP systems to manage planning parameters, review recommendations, and maintain data integrity.
- Analyze scheduling and operational performance metrics to improve throughput, capacity utilization, and schedule adherence.
- Support S&OP processes and continuous improvement initiatives across planning and scheduling operations.
- 7-10 years of production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations experience.
- Strong experience with Master Production Scheduling (MPS), MRP, capacity planning, demand planning, and inventory management.
- Experience in a discrete manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, JD Edwards, Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Experience participating in S&OP processes.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence across departments.
- Data-driven decision maker who can identify trends and solve complex operational challenges.
- Skilled at balancing competing priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on schedule stability, customer service, and operational performance.
