Overview:
Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during each shift. Provides clinical care as needed during census demand and communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leaders. Serves as a resource for guidance and assistance to staff.

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing – Preferred
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing – Required
- 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting – Required
- 2+ years of nursing experience in a hospital setting – Preferred
- RN – Registered Nurse, Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure – Required
- BCLS – Basic Life Support – Required
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (for applicable specialties) – Required
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (for units with pediatric patients) – Required
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program – Required during orientation
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring – Required within 12 months of start date
- PEARS Certification – Required at specific hospitals as outlined in the addendum
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification – Required prior to independent chemotherapy administration
- Advanced specialty certifications – as detailed in the addendum (e.g., ACLS for Cardiac Tele, ACLS/PALS for Emergency Department, NRP for Women’s Services, etc.) – Required within specified periods after start date
- All nursing disciplines must complete core documentation and assessment processes to support individualized patient care plans.
- Cardiac Tele & Critical Care nurses must obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of start date.
- Emergency Department nurses must obtain ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of start date; if already experienced, PALS certification must be obtained within 30 days.
- Issues such as PEARS, NRP, and other specialty certifications must be obtained within 180 days as indicated for each hospital unit.
