Lactation Consultant RN

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Lactation Consultant RN to provide expert breastfeeding support to mothers and infants in our hospital setting. In this PRN, daytime role, you will assess feeding, develop individualized care plans, provide hands‑on education, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied staff to promote safe, evidence‑based lactation care. You will document interventions, contribute to staff education, and support quality initiatives in a respectful, team-focused, and patient-centered environment that values ongoing learning and growth.

• Provide comprehensive lactation assessment and support to mothers and infants
• Develop and implement individualized breastfeeding care plans
• Educate patients and families on breastfeeding techniques and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff on lactation care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR
• Support staff education on lactation best practices
• Promote adherence to infection control and patient safety standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to maternal/infant care
