Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a GA or compact license and at least 2 years of ER experience for a night shift assignment.

Details
  • Emergency Department setting treating a combined adult/pediatric patient population
  • Diagnoses include HTN, Diabetes, CHF, ESRD, CAD, abdominal pain, STEMI/NSTEMI, PE, COPD, and behavioral health cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Epic charting system experience required
Requirements
  • Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • EBRR and GSCC certifications required, may be completed onsite
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with respiratory care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration required
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring required
  • Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Central line care/management and continuous IV sedation experience preferred
  • No prior travel experience required
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Manage psychiatric patients and de-escalate violent behavior as needed
  • Level I and Level II Trauma Center and STEMI-certified facility experience preferred
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of consideration
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be separated from the facility for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or not approved to return must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
