Landscape Machine Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION AND COMPANY

LOCATION:

Conyers/Covington GA 30014

• Operate heavy equipment including skid steers, compact track loaders, mini excavators, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform rough and finish grading for residential and commercial landscape projects.
• Read and interpret site plans, grading plans, elevations, and construction drawings.
• Establish proper slopes and drainage to ensure water runoff and prevent pooling.
• Prepare sites for sod, seed, planting beds, hardscapes, and irrigation systems.
• Excavate and backfill trenches for drainage and utility installations.
• Install and shape landscape features, retaining wall areas, and berms.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a safe and organized job site.
• Work closely with project managers and crew members to ensure quality workmanship and project completion deadlines are met.
• Load, transport, and unload equipment and materials as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating landscape or construction equipment.
• Proven experience with rough and finish grading.
• Ability to read grade stakes, laser levels, transit levels, and grading plans.
• Knowledge of drainage principles and site preparation techniques.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to safely enter and exit equipment multiple times throughout the workday.
