Mobile Service Technician​/Mechanic

Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic. The role performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy‑duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision.

• Perform skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy‑duty truck equipment and related components with minimal supervision.
• Perform troubleshooting on major problems.
• Work with and help train apprentice technicians.
• Maintain a neat and orderly working area and handling of company tools.
• Advise the Service Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintain favorable relations with customers.
• Participate in training to stay abreast of new technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

The role involves operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, or vehicles, or handling hazardous materials and/or waste.

• CDL
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications
• Must have at a minimum one specialization (i.e., engine, drive train).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience or vocational training.
• Necessary tools to perform the position.
