Summary:
Lays out, installs refrigeration piping and components. Responsible for installing pipe on manufacturing units. Duties range from fabricating piping and materials to assembling systems and ensuring they're running effectively and do not leak.
What you'll be responsible for in this role:
- Must have experience and capable of all job requirements of a Piper I and must pass Piper II test
- Experience with all components of piping systems, including brackets, clamps and hangers
- Study drawings and plan where to place and install the piper based on production standards
- Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install copper and steel tubing
- Installs refrigeration valves, tubing, and fastening in place
- Cut and Braze Refrigeration Components
- Pressurizes and leak check units
- Understands Production Standards
- Proper Shipping Techniques
- Advanced Systems Piping
- Mechanical Layout of Secondary and CO2 systems
- Install & pipes oil reservoir
- Installs refrigeration valves, tubing, fastening in place
- Assists with Training of Piper I
- Tools: tube cutters, hand vise, power benders, files, flaring/swedging tools, torch
What are the qualifications:
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
