Dispatcher, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Responsibilities

• Receives incoming calls from external and internal Customers.
• Records the following on the Daily schedule: crane size required for the task, assigned operator and/or rigger, date and time requested to be on site and estimated hours or days till completion, customer’s invoicing information (division or location), direction to job location (including county and/or nearest town) and job task description, any special rigging required (e.g., spreader bar, man basket), contact’s name and phone number(s).
• Completes the job ticket with the following information: date of the assigned task, time the operator and/or rigger is to be at location, crane size for invoicing (e.g., 60 ton, even if a 75 ton was used), billing method (e.g., Purchase Order, Check, Cash, Charge Card), customer company name receiving the invoice, on-site contact, telephone number, load weight, vertical lift height, horizontal reach from crane, any special rigging, job description, job location directions, operator assigned to the task, and estimated length of the job.
• Posts job tickets in the break room for the following day’s assignments.
• Coordinates efforts with the on-call person when the schedule is nearly full or when there are concerns such as overlapping times, manpower, or equipment.
• At the end of your shift, reviews with the on-call person all scheduled job assignments and any upcoming tasks.
• Ability to read, interpret, and determine that an assigned crane can perform the lift by utilizing the manufacturer’s load charts.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• College degree preferred.
• 3–7 years of industrial dispatching/scheduling duties.
• 3–7 years of crane operations and proper rigging techniques.
• Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
