Job Title

Essential FunctionsResponsible for managing the labor distribution process and maintaining accurate costing for all University faculty, staff, and students. This position will ensure accurate labor distribution schedules and collaborate with college and unit budget finance managers, administrators and other stakeholders.
This position involves processing payroll costs, distributing them to specific projects or general ledger accounts according to defined labor schedules, and resolving any errors in the distribution process.
This role is crucial for ensuring employees' costs are charged correctly to the appropriate accounts, providing financial managers with accurate labor cost data for projects and non-project activities.
A significant part of the job is to review, analyze, and correct any errors that arise during the cost distribution process, ensuring the accuracy of financial records in a timely fashion.
The position often includes reviewing labor schedules and cost analyses in real-time using business intelligence tools to monitor distributions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to accurately capturing, processing, and allocating labor costs, ensuring proper coding to projects and departments, and reconciling these costs with payroll and financial records.
Key duties include importing and verifying payroll costing data, correcting errors in cost distribution, updating labor schedules, accordingly, conducting clearing account reconciliations, and providing management with analysis.
They act as a liaison for labor cost inquiries and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and reports related to labor. This position will be responsible for departmental training. This position will work closely with various departments in the Business Office including Budget, Payroll, Grant Accounting and General Accounting.
Other duties include serving as short-term back up to Budget department positions, the Budget Planning and Management Specialist III and Budget Planning and Management Specialist IV. Additional duties include collaboration with budget staff to meet external budget cycle reporting requirements and internal budget cycle processes.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
- Two years of accounting or related experience.
- Financial Systems Expertise:
Familiarity with accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly those with labor distribution modules like Oracle. - Analytical
Skills:
