The overall purpose of this job is to be the administrative support contact for all non-budgetary aspects of a department’s daily routine and manage the department offices that are under this position’s supervision. This job consists of a full range of standard and non-standard clerical assignments and the need for problem solving for department or departments.

ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Serve as the primary administrative support for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Work closely with the Department Chair and Financial Associate to support the department's daily operations.
- Assist all undergraduate and graduate students with academic and registration matters related to their plans of study while maintaining student records, files, and electronic data in accordance with university requirements.
- Provide support for ABET and SACSCOC accreditation activities as needed.
- Assist with annual reports and departmental publications.
- Coordinate course scheduling each semester, including classroom assignments, registration permits, room reservations, textbook orders, and SOAR Orientation activities.
- Coordinate and supervise departmental student workers, including assigning work, assisting with hiring, processing payroll, and approving time through Job Portal or TCP, as appropriate.
- Provide administrative support for departmental purchasing and financial processes, including Talon, Pro Card transactions, and other procurement activities, while working closely with the Financial Associate and Department Chair.
- Receive, direct, and assist visitors, prospective students and their families, faculty, staff, and students. Maintain the Department Chair's calendar and scheduling as needed.
- Coordinate departmental communications, including internal and external communications, website content, social media, marketing materials, and support for departmental meetings, faculty meetings, advisory board meetings, and related communications.
- Assist with departmental facilities and asset management, including Physical Facilities Inventory, Space Inventory, and Key Inventory.
- Provide administrative support for departmental events, outreach activities, and other special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the department's academic, administrative, and operational mission.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Three or more years of related experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. Ability to establish effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external constituents with a variety of personalities. Ability to handle confidential files and information. Displays initiative in completing tasks without direct supervision. Requires computer and software knowledge to include Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook – and the ability to develop spreadsheets, reports, and manage scheduling and appointments.
Preferred Qualifications:Preferably has Banner, Argos, Oracle and TCP experience.
