Skilled Laborer – Asphalt Crew
The Skilled Laborer – Asphalt Crew performs a variety of manual labor and equipment-related tasks associated with asphalt paving, patching, grading, and roadway construction projects. This position works closely with crew members and equipment operators to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality asphalt operations.
Job Duties- Preparing work sites
- Operating heavy machinery (if needed)
- Applying and smoothing hot asphalt mix to exact thickness and slope specifications.
- Traffic Safety
- Site preparation
- Material Application
- Equipment operation
- Joint and Surface Finishing
- Cleanup and Maintenance.
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, when required.
- Must be able to use hand tools such as rakes, lutes, shovels and tampers to spread and smooth asphalt
- Knowledge of road regulations, flagging and OSHA safety standards
