Description of Job Duty:

Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning August 1, 2026.

Essential Functions:

* Teach up to 11 credit hours per semester of undergraduate and/or master's-level mathematics courses in in-person, online, or hybrid formats, including courses in areas such as abstract algebra and geometry

* Maintain an active research program in an area of pure mathematics that leads to publications in peer-reviewed journals

* Develop and implement courses related to one's curricular area or that serve the overall teaching needs of the department.

* Demonstrate the willingness and ability to mentor and supervise graduate research projects

* Participate in service activities that support the department and university, as well as participate in public and professional service activities as appropriate

* Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of the Mathematics Department and the greater campus community

Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure track position to begin August 1, 2026.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. (or international equivalent) in Mathematics from an accredited institution by the start date. Ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate and master's-level courses, including those in areas such as abstract algebra and geometry. An active research program in an area of pure mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Evidence of potential for high-quality teaching and quality research, along with an active research program in an area of pure mathematics that complements the research areas of the department.
