Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Family Nurse Practitioner role located in Cookeville, TN. The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide primary care services across the lifespan, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions. Daily responsibilities include performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and delivering patient and family education focused on preventive care and long-term wellness.
The role also involves coordinating care with physicians and other clinicians, supporting urgent care needs, and ensuring accurate documentation in the medical record. The practitioner will contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold the clinic’s standards of safety, ethics, and patient-centered service.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Nurse Practitioner practice, with experience in family-focused Nursing across diverse patient populations.
- Strong background in Primary Care, including preventive services, chronic disease management, and health promotion.
- Clinical competence in Medicine relevant to outpatient settings, including evaluation, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment.
- Ability to manage Urgent Care needs, triage patients effectively, and respond to acute presentations in a clinic environment.
- Current licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner (or eligibility), with national certification (e.g., AANP or ANCC) preferred.
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS are a plus.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills, with a commitment to compassionate, non-discriminatory care.
- Experience in primary care or family practice settings, and familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation standards.
