American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and prior travel assignment history.

• Work in the Stepdown Cardiac unit of a hospital environment
• Cardiac telemetry patient population including post cardiac cath, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery cases
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Paragon charting system

• Active RN license (TN or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac stepdown or telemetry nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing cardiac drips (titration preferred)
• Experience with central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care
• Competency in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration
• Wound care and wound vac experience preferred
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring preferred

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients including post-angiogram and post-surgical monitoring
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• No RTO permitted from 2/08/27 through 3/31/27 due to a facility Epic implementation
• RTO requests cannot be taken a week at a time
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the travel assignment
• Local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
