Position: General Labor Heavy Grading /Sitework Operations- Cookeville, TN
Descriptions

* Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and utility installation activities.

* Perform hand digging, trenching, back filling, and compaction work as directed.

* Install and maintain erosion control measures.

* Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.

* Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and effectively.

* Assist with pipe installation, drainage structures, and underground utility work.

* Perform grade checking, stake placement, and site cleanup activities.

* Direct traffic and equipment movement when necessary.

* Maintain a clean and organized work area.

* Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

* Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment issues to supervision immediately.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED preferred.

* Previous construction, grading, excavation, or sitework experience preferred but not required.

* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

* Basic understanding of construction tools and equipment.

* Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods.

* Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.

* Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work on uneven terrain.

* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.

* Ability to work around heavy equipment and moving machinery.

* Outdoor construction sites.

* Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and changing weather conditions.

* Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
