Job Summary
Perform a variety of custodial tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of College facilities including classrooms, office areas, restrooms and entryways. Part‑time positions are up to 19 hours per week. Currently hiring at all campuses (Coolidge, Maricopa, San Tan, Apache Junction).
Responsibilities- Perform the custodial tasks required of the campus and according to established guidelines to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Inspect areas for cleanliness and minor problems in need of repair. Report problems to supervisor and recommend actions to deter vandalism and other damage.
- Maintain safety by turning on/off lights and keeping sidewalks and entryways free of debris. Set up and take down equipment for classroom use, scheduled and/or special events, meetings or other building use.
- Conduct nightly rounds: check doors and windows, locks, and unlock doors. Communicate with local authorities to report unusual activities or unlawful disturbances on the campus grounds or in campus buildings.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations according to the MSDS guidelines for the use of cleaners and chemicals. Operate and maintain hand and power equipment. Participate in scheduled end‑of‑semester cleanup procedures, which include comprehensive cleaning of rooms, windows, blinds, furniture and similar items.
- Assist in stocking campus buildings with necessary supplies. Perform basic maintenance duties including landscaping, pulling wiring in support of electrical and communications projects, perform basic equipment and vehicular maintenance, painting, and operating a forklift.
- Perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position, including participating in committee assignments and the recruitment and retention of students.
- Education:
Focused training and may require special certification/license. - Experience:
Three (3) years of applicable experience. - Special Position
Conditions:
Must have or be able to obtain an Arizona driver’s license and be insurable to drive college vehicles. This position may require rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. - Deadline:
Open until filled. - Salary: $16.50 per hour up to 19 hours per week.

- Ability to understand and follow directions and information on MSDS sheets.
- Knowledge and skills in custodial maintenance practices in public buildings, classrooms, labs, offices, gyms, restrooms, dorms, and other facilities including use of hand and power equipment.
- Skill in communications and ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with college administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to plan, assign, schedule and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems and make necessary minor repairs.
- Ability to work independently and with others as a team to complete tasks.

This level of skill is required for effective job performance. Position has limited to some contact with students, program participants, and/or the public.
- Perform heavy manual labor requiring dexterity and physical steadiness.
- Regularly required to stand and/or walk seven (7) hours a day.
- Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms for the purpose of working with or on commodes and sinks; stoop, kneel, or crouch in confined spaces.
- Must regularly lift, move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Work outside in all types of inclement weather; may be required to work on weekends.
- Work with a variety of chemicals and/or hazardous materials; may be required to use a respirator as needed.
