Production Manager

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day operational activities to ensure efficient production, high product quality, and achievement of organizational goals. This role ensures operational standards, procedures, and performance metrics are maintained to maximize productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The position directly supervises operational leadership and works cross‑functionally to ensure timely production, quality assurance, safety compliance, and operational excellence. The Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, safety standards, and quality requirements across all operational processes.

• Develop, implement, and maintain operational programs and processes that drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily operational performance including production output, quality standards, on‑time delivery, and cost control.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets while identifying opportunities to reduce costs, eliminate waste, and improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Partner with safety teams to support and promote workplace safety programs and a strong safety culture.
• Train, coach, and develop supervisors and managers to strengthen leadership capability and ensure operational continuity.
• Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.
• Monitor staffing levels and operational resource needs to maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and profitability.
• Analyze operational metrics and performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate operational performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with departments such as Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Human Resources to align operational priorities.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, operational procedures, and quality standards.
• Drive accountability for operational performance and ensure teams meet established goals and targets.

• Demonstrated experience managing operational performance and achieving production or service delivery targets.
• Strong organizational, project management, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience analyzing operational data and implementing performance improvements.
• Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office and operational management software.
• Knowledge of safety programs, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
• Experience with continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or process optimization.
• Strong technical and operational understanding of systems, equipment, and workflow processes.

• Oversees recruitment, hiring, and training of operational employees and leadership staff.
• Provides direction and oversight for scheduling, task assignments, and workload management.
• Conducts timely and constructive employee performance evaluations.
• Handles employee coaching, discipline, and termination in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• May oversee multiple supervisors and operational teams depending on organizational structure.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to operational or production environments that include moving mechanical parts, equipment noise, temperature variations, and other environmental factors. The noise level in the work environment may vary depending on operational areas.
