We are seeking a hands‑on Production Manager to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of an industrial manufacturing facility. This hybrid Production/Maintenance leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance while supporting production goals, equipment reliability, environmental health and safety (EH&S), and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Production Manager will lead plant personnel, coordinate maintenance activities, monitor production performance, and work closely with operations, dispatch, and vendors to maximize productivity while minimizing downtime. This is a working management position that requires both leadership and active involvement in plant operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production.
  • Lead production activities while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
  • Coordinate production schedules with operations and dispatch teams to meet customer demands.
  • Monitor plant performance and implement process improvements to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and operational records.
  • Schedule employees and provide performance feedback and coaching.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise production operators.
  • Lead plant improvement projects and monitor operational performance metrics.
  • Serve as backup to the Plant Manager when required.

Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all plant equipment.
  • Oversee maintenance of tanks, pumps, piping systems, boilers, hot oil heaters, forklifts, railcar movers, and related industrial equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate equipment repairs, rebuilds, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Work with vendors to procure replacement parts and technical support.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and improve maintenance planning.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize plant reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, equipment reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, plant operations, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of plant operations, industrial maintenance, and equipment reliability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 80 lbs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights up to 50 feet
    .
  • Comfortable working on elevated catwalks, in confined spaces, and beneath trailers or railcars.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor industrial environments, including extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) daily.
  • Capable of frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, and other physical activities required in an industrial facility.

Preferred Experience:

Candidates with experience in manufacturing plants, asphalt production, chemical processing, industrial facilities, or other heavy industrial environments are strongly preferred.
