SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

Responsible for the efficient, accurate and consistent processing of all raw materials needed for the quality production of personal care products manufactured to customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lead the shift of the compounding department by assigning daily tasks, ensuring compounders and sanitizers are following instructions and maintaining productivity.
  • Mix, compound, process, test, adjust and modify ingredients to successfully carry out and complete the manufacturing process of the many personal care products produced in accordance with written instructions.
  • Continually communicate with the Compounding Supervisor/Manager and staff to ensure production of top‑quality finished goods. Diverse product knowledge in inspecting parts (versatility).
  • Responsible for consistent observance of cGMPs, SOPs and Safety Procedures. Working knowledge of appropriate industry regulations.
  • Check and review in‑process production to ensure compliance with customer specifications, GMP regulations, and GDP guidance.
  • Maintain proper handling and storage of materials and equipment needed for production.
  • Carry out inspection assignments of all production equipment to safeguard company profits by maintaining equipment in good and safe working condition. Report issues to compounding supervisors or facilities director.
  • Train new employees in the compounding/pre‑weigh departments.
  • Assist in SOP and Work Instruction development with supervisors and management.
  • Ensuring all checklists are completed when performed on your shift.
  • Communicate with supervisors, production and scheduling departments to ensure smooth transition of bulk from compounding to production.
  • Audit compounders documentation and process adherence ensuring accurate and appropriate performance.
  • Track department inventory.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervision.
  • Attend all Company training encompassing GMP, SOP, SAFETY and cross training to expand employee capabilities.
COMPETENCIES
  • Must have strong verbal and writing skills along with strong communication skills. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English;
    Spanish a plus.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Requires basic working knowledge for fundamental math skills.
  • Good communication skills: speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Good math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to perform the job with a high level of safety awareness.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You may fill in as a backup for the supervisor when needed.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT
    • This position functions on the compounding floor and therefore, will experience characteristics commonly found in a liquids manufacturing setting. Characteristics would include (but not limited to):
      • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
      • Exposure to chemicals during the handling of which PPE is required.
      • Hot/humid conditions.
      • Wet conditions.

  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
  • Must be flexible to be trained in all work areas.
  • POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
    • This is a full‑time position. The base days and hours are Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per shift depending on shift assigned.
    • Overtime notice will be communicated as far in advance as feasible, however, based on the nature of the work overtime notice may be less than one work day at times.
    TRAVEL
    • No travel is expected for this position.
    REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • At least 3 years of experience preferred.
    • Ability to drive a Forklift.
    ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
  • English language and knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
