At the Department of Economic Security (DES) Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), we seek an experienced and highly motivated individual to serve as a Caregiver Lead. This role involves coaching, teaching, mentoring, and providing direct support to members with developmental disabilities in various settings. The position focuses on promoting independent decision‑making and community engagement.
Job Duties- Encourage and involve members in recreational activities and provide least‑restrictive interventions.
- Assist members with Activities of Daily Living, nutrition, housekeeping, and basic hygiene care.
- Communicate using verbal and sign language; implement Person Centered Service Plans, collect and record data.
- Order, log, dispense, administer, and store medications per doctor’s orders, after completing required training.
- Lead in absence of supervisor; conduct on‑site training and ensure timely reporting.
- Respond to emergencies, provide treatment, complete incident reports, and coordinate evacuation plans.
- Basic member rights, medication administration, PCSP process, data collection, problem‑solving.
- Strong verbal and non‑verbal communication, training and teaching, organization, and interaction with others.
- Ability to give directions, teach daily living skills, maintain compassion while upholding member rights, remain calm in emergencies, and adhere to training and data collection standards.
- Applicant must be 21 years old.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and relocate if necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with required training and insurance if operating state vehicle.
- Valid Level One fingerprint clearance card.
- Background check including Child Safety Central Registry and Adult Protective Services Registry.
- Background and reference check; successful E‑Verify compliance.
