Paraprofessional - Full-Time School-Based Position

We're currently seeking dedicated Paraprofessionals to support students at River trail Learning Center in Coon Rapids, MN for the school year.

  • Candidates may indicate an age-group preference
  • Setting: Setting 4 Special Education
  • Contract-to-direct-hire model

Role Overview:

As a Setting 4 Paraprofessional, you will work alongside Special Education Teachers and other school professionals to support students who receive 100% of their school day in a Special Education setting. Students may have significant disabilities, behavioral needs, and require a higher level of individualized support.

Candidates should be comfortable working with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviors and require hands-on assistance throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group support to students
  • Assist Special Education Teachers with classroom instruction and activities
  • Support students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs
  • Help implement individualized student plans and behavioral supports
  • Assist with classroom management and maintaining a safe learning environment
  • Assist students with toileting and personal care as needed
  • Observe and document student progress and behavior as directed
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other members of the educational team

Qualifications:

  • Must meet Highly Qualified Paraprofessional requirements
  • Highly Qualified documentation must be provided
  • Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred
  • Experience with behavioral or high-support-needs populations is a plus
  • Must be comfortable supporting students with significant behaviors
  • Must be willing to assist with toileting and personal care
  • Strong communication, patience, reliability, and teamwork skills
