We manufacture and sell a complete line of work holding products for the machining industry. Our innovative angle lock design vises have built our reputation and allowed us to expand into a variety of other manufacturing sectors including 5-axis vises, work holding towers, automation and quality control.

Kurt Workholding also provides manufacturers custom engineered solutions to help them maximize efficiency and quality.

The Sales Engineer combines technical expertise with sales skills to sell complex products and/or services. This person is responsible for bridging the gap between the company’s technical offerings and the customer’s needs, providing technical support and demonstrating how the company’s products and/or services can solve the customer’s need requiring knowledge of engineering and cost effectiveness. (Mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, electronic equipment and supplies or services)

Hours:

7:30 a.m. – 4:00 pm. Monday-Friday

Compensation: The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $79,000 to $105,000. The exact salary may be determined on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

Essential Functions
  • Must have a deep understanding of the products and/or services they are selling, including technical specifications, functionality, and applications.
  • Seeks out and works with customers (representatives at commercial, industrial, etc) to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and business goals
  • Develop and propose technical solutions that meet the customer’s needs, potentially customizing products or services.
  • Reviews blueprints, plans and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or projects, and increase in production from clients’ use of proposed equipment or services.
  • Deliver technical presentation and product demonstrations to explain the value proposition and showcase how the product solves the customer’s problems
  • Provide ongoing technical support, answering technical questions and resolving issues ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing issues.
  • May assist with the technical aspects of contract negotiations, drawing up sales or service contracts for products or services, ensuring that contract terms align with the proposed solutions
  • May provide technical training to employees of clients.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and competitor offerings to better understand the market landscape.
  • This position will require travel up to 40%.
  • This is an in-office position (no remote or hybrid-work)

Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • 2+ years of experience as a sales engineer or in a similar technical sales role.
  • Strong technical background and ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate them to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and establish strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and propose innovative solutions
  • Self‑motivated and target‑driven with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience as a sales engineer or in a similar technical sales role.
