Community Supports - Mental Health Specialist II

Wages for this role start at $21.00.

We are seeking compassionate Mental Health Specialists to work with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or a mental health diagnosis. The people we support may have behavioral, medical complexities and reside in an apartment‑style setting.
** This is not a residential group home role.**

• Provide hands‑on and/or verbal assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
• Assist individuals with daily activities like personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, fostering independence.
• Maintain a clean, safe space that supports comfort and personal growth.
• Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
• Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
• Attend community occasions and fun activities such as outdoor walks, games, and social events.
• Work on tailored outcomes for individuals and collaborate on behavioral guidance plans as needed.
• Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
• Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
• Document progress, milestones, and action steps.

• 18 years or older to work in residential adult programs and at least 21 years or older to work in child foster care homes.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working with persons displaying challenging physical and/or verbal aggressions, property destruction, or self‑injurious behaviors.
• Preferred experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Preference for experience working with mental health/illness.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by Dungarvin policy.
• Current auto liability insurance.
• Computer skills for documentation.
• Ability to perform personal cares.
• Good communication skills for reading, writing, and collaborating with team members.

May be full or part‑time, with a mixture of weekday and weekend hours.
All persons in this position should be prepared to work weekends and holidays.
