Key Position Details

Location:

9055 Springbrook Dr NW Coon Rapids, MN 55433‑5841.

Department:  AHG. Shift: Day (United States of America), 8 hour shift, 40 hours per week. Hybrid position, no weekends or major holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and provide medical nutrition therapy to inpatients, outpatients and staff within the community.
  • Assess nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition care plans and education from the analysis of the medical record and patient information.
  • Provide nutrition education within the organization and community.
  • Develop individualized nutrition care plans for medically unstable patients of all ages.
  • Assess needs, deliver and evaluate the effect of nutrition counseling for clients with varying medical problems.
  • Utilize nutrition screens/assessment tools to address identified needs for patients.
  • Develop therapeutic plans for specialized nutrition support, including enteral and parenteral nutrition.
  • Collaborate with health team members, patients and families in the care process.
  • Document patient information and communication in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate internship learning goals, monitor, and evaluate progress.
  • Provide nutrition education to hospital support groups and the community.
  • Assist in developing and revising patient education materials and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition Services or Dietetics, and successful completion of an ACEND accredited and supervised practice program.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience working in a hospital and/or clinic setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition, Biochemistry, Education or Public Health.
  • Registered Dietitian credential (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration within 90 days of hire.
  • License (LD) through the Minnesota Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice within 90 days of hire.
  • Certification (CD) with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (inpatient Dietitians only) within 90 days of hire. Current employees must obtain their CD with Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services by March 31, 2026.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator – National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators preferred upon hire.
  • Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD) upon hire preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required within 60 days of employment if providing services for Home Care and Hospice.
Physical Demands

Sedentary:
Lifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently.

Pay Range

$29.31 to $40.17 per hour. Pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Starting rate depends on experience, education, and union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend, and/or other differentials may be available to increase pay.
