** Key Position Details:
*** 1.0 FTE NP/PA Trauma and General Surgery
* Locations:
Mercy/Unity hospitals
* 10-hour shifts day/evening/night (group rotates coverage of various shifts)
* Occasional weekends
* Mostly surgical work; no clinic
* General Surgery work includes OR, patient rounding, elective & ACS

* Job Description:

** Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician/Physician Assistant team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.
** Principle Responsibilities
*** Provides clinical care for patients  + Completes comprehensive patient assessments.  + Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.  + Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.  + Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.  + Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.  + Refers for specialty care when determined.  + Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
** Required Qualifications
*** Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program
** Preferred Qualifications
*** 3 years experience. Consideration will be given to lesser experienced applicants and new grads if prior knowledge of trauma care is demonstrated
** Licenses/Certifications
*** Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice or Licensed Nurse Practitioner - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
* ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
* Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) or equivalent Nurse Practitioner certification required upon hire
* Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire
* ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support from American College of Surgeons required upon hire

** Pay Range**### Pay Range: $147,243 to $169,998 per year### The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE.
