American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D and post-partum experience with NRP certification for a night shift assignment in Minnesota.
Requirements- Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with post-partum experience required
- Sterile vaginal exam experience required
- Fetal monitoring skills required, including external fetal monitoring, internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
- Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
- Pain management and nitrous oxide skills preferred
- Minimum one supervisor reference required for consideration
- Work in the Mother Baby Center, covering both Labor and Delivery and post-partum units
- Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 post-partum patients per day
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours )
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
- Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system
- Provide nursing care across both labor and post-partum settings within the Mother Baby Center
- Teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center setting with 258 staffed beds
- Scrubs provided by the unit
- No parking fees at this facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
- RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days
- Candidates must be gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm staff or per diem employee at this facility
