Machinist Assistant Position SummaryWe are hiring a Machinist Assistant/Kitter for the Orthopaedics Department. The Kitter assembles tool boxes and related paperwork for the manufacturing floor, following kitting procedures. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, understanding of the production schedule, and effective communication with tool crib personnel, management, and machinists are essential.
1st ShiftMonday – Thursday, 5:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Responsibilities- Assemble tooling boxes and all paperwork for jobs running on the manufacturing floor.
- Manage the kitting process: part programs, set‑up sheets, records, and inventory.
- Provide tooling boxes per the set‑up sheet.
- Update documentation throughout the process—before, during, and after the job is completed.
- Inspect tools, new and returned, using a microscope and other inspection equipment.
- Maintain inventory of tools and resolve shortage issues and discrepancies.
- Maintain daily logs and reports necessary to the kitting procedure.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Understand the operations and tooling applications of CNC machines.
- Prior knowledge of cutting tools.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- High School Diploma.
- One year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
USD $16.73 – $23.41 per hour.
