Quality Inspector - Ortho

Overview

rms Company provides contract manufacturing of high‑quality, tight‑tolerance medical implants, components and sub‑assemblies using cutting‑edge technology. rms is part of the Cretex Medical family of companies.

The Quality Inspector supports the production floor and reports to the Production Supervisor, ensuring product compliance with quality and industry specifications.

1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

• Inspection of received materials, components, and assemblies for quality, appearance, and performance
• Interpret and accurately document inspection results and testing
• Report and isolate non‑conforming product
• Use a variety of inspection measurement tools and gauges (micrometer, caliper, gage pins, indicators, thread gauges, profilometer, optical comparator, microscopes)
• Operate various precision testing equipment including but not limited to tool scope, CMM, and vision systems
• Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
• Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
• Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
• Understand customer needs and the core business markets served
• Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
• Participate in required company meetings
• Maintain an organized work area (5S)
• Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
• Complete all other work duties as assigned
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

• Basic knowledge of inspection equipment use and maintenance
• Ability to work from customer supplied drawings and specifications
• Ability to communicate inspection results with team members
• Ability to quickly shift priorities in support of production inspection needs
• Manage multiple requirements and deadlines
• Mechanical aptitude
• Dexterity and hand‑eye coordination
• Ability to use a microscope and hand tools
• Ability to cross‑train in other areas of production when required
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)

• Ability to prioritize and multitask

• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with measuring instruments, methods and practices including hand tools and machine devices such as CMM and vision systems
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/13485
• Quality training/certification

USD $18.22 – $25.53 /hr.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market‑based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full hiring range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
