American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D and post-partum experience with NRP certification for a night shift assignment in Minnesota.

• Work in the Mother Baby Center, covering both Labor and Delivery and post-partum units
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 post-partum patients per day
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours )
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with post-partum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Fetal monitoring skills required, including external fetal monitoring, internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Pain management and nitrous oxide skills preferred
• Minimum one supervisor reference required for consideration

• Provide nursing care across both labor and post-partum settings within the Mother Baby Center
• Teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center setting with 258 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• No parking fees at this facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days
• Candidates must be gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm staff or per diem employee at this facility
