What You’ll Work On

This isn’t a “watch and learn” internship—you’ll own projects and see them through.

You’ll focus on improving inspection and quality processes across key manufacturing work centers, including:

Identify and eliminate inspection-related waste

  • Evaluate current inspection methods, notes, and capabilities
  • Conduct studies to validate and improve process effectiveness
  • Recommend practical upgrades to inspection capabilities
  • Support Lean initiatives and Continuous Improvement (CIF) projects
  • Select and lead a few improvement projects from start to finish
  • Audit and streamline ~500 controlled documents (Work Instructions/JIs)
  • Reduce duplication and consolidate overlapping content
  • Use tools (including AI, if you’re savvy!) to modernize documentation
  • Work directly with operators, engineers, and quality teams
  • See how your ideas translate into real-world improvements
What Makes This Internship Different
  • Lunch & Learns with input from leaders across the business
  • Off-site social activities with fellow interns
  • Exposure to real business challenges and decision-making
  • Opportunities to present your work and impact
What We’re Looking For
  • Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related degree
  • Completed at least 1 year of college coursework
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Interest in manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working both independently and on the shop floor
  • Bonus: strong writing skills or interest in improving documentation (especially using digital tools or AI)
Why Apply?
  • Work on projects that actually matter
  • Gain real manufacturing and shop floor experience
  • Build skills in Lean, Quality, and Continuous Improvement
  • Make a visible impact that goes beyond the internship
  • Be part of a supportive, engaging intern community
