Join a dedicated clinical team as a Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician and make a meaningful impact in the outpatient setting of a reputable cancer center. This opportunity offers flexible, ongoing coverage to support patient care during a physician s transition, allowing you to contribute your expertise while enjoying the scenic beauty of Coos Bay.
In this role, you will function as part of a collaborative patient care team, performing tasks and procedures consistent with your training and licensure as a medical oncologist/hematologist. You will manage a diverse outpatient caseload, focusing on timely diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors, with a referral protocol in place for benign hematology cases. The setting is an outpatient, freestanding cancer center utilizing the EPIC EMR system, with a team of three physicians, two Advanced Practice Providers, and radiation oncologists present during coverage periods.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license and board certification in Hematology and Oncology.
- Proven experience in outpatient oncology and hematology care.
- Ability to perform procedures and coordinate patient treatment plans effectively.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary cancer care team.
- Familiarity with outpatient clinical workflows.
- Prior locum or temporary physician experience.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-residency or fellowship experience in hematology/oncology.
- Prior experience in outpatient cancer centers preferred.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 2 weeks per month, starting March 1, 2026.
- Estimated credentialing time of 6-8 weeks.
- Participation in a 4-hour unpaid EPIC training.
- Willingness to participate in a 1:4 call rotation, including rotating weekends.
- Travel and lodging arrangements will be coordinated and provided.
