Overview:
This Locum Physician role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team at a free-standing cancer center, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of hematologic and oncologic patients. You will participate in outpatient care, collaborating with radiation oncologists and advanced practice providers to deliver comprehensive oncology services. The position is ideal for physicians seeking flexible coverage with a supportive team, and it begins early March 2026, with a minimum commitment of two weeks per month.
Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid board certification in Hematology and Oncology
- Current medical license in Oregon or eligible for licensure
- Proven experience in outpatient oncology and hematology care
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage a caseload of 10-15 outpatient patients daily and handle inpatient chemotherapy as needed
- Willingness to participate in call rotations (1:4 ratio), including weekends and evenings
Skills:
- Experience working in a Cancer Center or outpatient setting
- Prior locum or temporary specialty coverage experience
- Knowledge of radiation oncology collaboration
- Bilingual abilities or additional language skills
Education and Experience:
- Board-certified in Hematology and Oncology
- At least 3 years of post-residency experience in a similar setting
- Experience with EPIC EMR and outpatient oncology workflows
- Credentialing timeframe estimated at 6-8 weeks
- Completion of 4 hours of unpaid EPIC training prior to start
- Availability to start on or around March 1, 2026
- Travel, lodging, and reimbursement for licensure and certifications provided
- Malpractice insurance included
- Flexible schedule (4-5 days per week, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm) with admin time available
- Compensation based on an hourly rate with overtime and holiday pay, including night and weekend call coverage
