Hiring Salary Range: $28.68 - $32.31 per hour
Summary of Work
The Curriculum Designer and LMS Support Specialist supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of online curriculum and learning management system (LMS) experiences to ensure high-quality, accessible, and standards-aligned instruction for students and educators. This role blends instructional design, technical system support, and collaborative partnership with teachers and vendors to develop engaging digital content, maintain LMS functionality, and enhance user experience across the organization.
By providing hands-on curriculum development, troubleshooting, and end-user support, the position ensures courses are effective, reliable, and aligned with best practices in online learning while serving as a key resource for integrating new tools, solving problems, and driving innovation in teaching and learning.
Duties and Tasks
* Load and test courses from third-party vendors in the LMS.
* Implement new course tools, resolve technical problems, and run diagnostic tests.
* Maintain LMS system documentation and collaborate with IT to ensure LMS stability and performance.
* Develop and maintain workflow plans, goals, and objectives for online curriculum.
* Input and organize academic standards within the LMS, ensuring accurate alignment with course content.
* Collaborate with teachers to review, align, and refine course materials to meet educational standards and best practices.
* Provide support to internal and external LMS users, resolving access, navigation, and functionality issues in the Helpdesk.
* Develop and maintain a knowledge base of frequently asked questions and common LMS issues for improved user support.
* Collaborate with IT to recommend improvements to the LMS user experience.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in education or related discipline.
* At least two years' experience working within an LMS.
* At least two years' experience designing and virtualizing curriculum and content.
* A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience or any equivalent combination of K - 12 training and experience.
* Deep understanding of K-12 pedagogy and learning engagement strategies.
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
* Strong planning skills, vision, and creative intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
* Advanced training or a master's degree in curriculum design.
* Experience teaching in virtual environments and applying best practices in online instruction.
