What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Design full-course curricula for high school STEM subjects, including scope and sequence, unit plans, and daily lesson plans
  • Develop high-quality instructional materials such as student-facing lessons, labs, projects, and assessments
  • Ensure alignment with New York State standards and the employer's academic vision and outcomes
  • Embed inquiry-based learning and analytical thinking in curriculum design
  • Collaborate with academic leaders and other curriculum writers for coherence across courses
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science;
    Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience in developing rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
  • Proven record of driving strong student outcomes through curriculum development
  • Strong understanding of New York State educational standards
  • Ability to utilize feedback and performance data to improve curriculum materials
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with high school STEM subjects, particularly AP Environmental Science
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning and assessment design

    Previous collaboration with academic leaders or instructional coaches
  • A passion for equity in education and commitment to diversity
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration
