What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Support and lead components of environmental compliance and natural resource permitting projects
  • Work closely with clients and internal project teams to resolve permitting and regulatory challenges
  • Prepare, submit, and manage permit applications and consistency determinations under the California Coastal Act
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and evaluate project consistency with Coastal Act policies

    Mentor junior staff and contribute to team knowledge-sharing
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, urban planning, or related field
  • Typically, 10+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience with California coastal permitting and related regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical reports and regulatory documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of ArcGIS and AutoCAD preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with utilities and/or renewable energy projects
  • Ability to manage tasks independently while working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with California natural resources and impact assessment
  • Willingness to travel locally as needed
