Position PurposeMaintain collaborative relationship with State child agencies, government agencies and advocacy groups to build additional community support for members.
Responsibilities- Serve as the subject matter expert for the foster care medical and behavioral health care contract and services.
- Act as the liaison between the State agency staff and social workers and health plan staff for awareness of service needs and issues related to the provision of medical and behavioral health services to foster children.
- Collaborate and consult with State agency staff and social workers to troubleshoot complex cases, analyze process effectiveness, and recommend solutions.
- Serve as the primary contact for the health plan with external stakeholders, community organizations and judicial systems that traditionally interface with Child Protective Services (CPS).
- Identify and recommend training and communication needs.
- Make public presentations as needed.
- Perform other duties to maintain the health plan’s operations.
- Promote and demonstrate appropriate respect for cultural diversity and sensitivity of the foster care population among coworkers and all work related contacts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience working within a social service agency and/or advocacy environment. Working knowledge of the Foster Care system, Medicaid and/or Health Plan administration preferred. Pay Range: $56,200.00 - $ per year.
