Job TitleSpeech Language Pathology Assistant 1.0 FTE
Position DescriptionThe SLPA will assist the Speech Pathologist in designing, implementing, and monitoring programs for students who have Speech/Language services listed on their Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Qualifications- Current Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant Certificate issued by the State of Oregon Board of Examiners
- Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
- Obtained an associate’s or higher degree; or
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate through a state or local formal academic assessment the knowledge of and ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics or the instruction in readiness for these subjects.
- Must possess excellent time management skills.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with students of all ages.
- Strong ability to work as a team member.
- Must hold valid first aid card.
- Carries out specific therapy related tasks that are prescribed and directed by the supervising Speech/Language Pathologist.
- Assists with implementation and monitoring of therapeutic programs developed by the speech/language pathologist.
- Assist the speech/language pathologist in reporting progress to and consulting with parents, teachers, and other concerned individuals.
- Assumes record keeping responsibilities as assigned by the speech/language pathologist or supervisor.
- Completes all assigned paperwork in a timely manner, per program requirements.
- Works harmoniously with other employees and deals tactfully with the public.
- Respects confidential information.
- Meets standards for competent and ethical performance as outlined in OAR .
- Performs duties in a manner reasonably expected and generally recognized by the profession.
- Maintains regular attendance in order to preserve the continuity of service delivery for the program.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by teacher, principal or program coordinator.
$25.77–$35.37 per hour
