* Job Description:

** Biomed Equipment Tech IUnder relatively close supervision, repairs, calibrates and maintains basic clinical equipment technologies, devices, instruments and systems. Inspects, installs and provides preventive maintenance of general clinical equipment.
*
* SKILLS AND ABILITIES

*** Possesses basic understanding and skills related to general electromechanical systems and devices.
* Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
* Ability to utilize general applications such as e-mail, spreadsheet and word processing software
* Ability to comprehend instructions and effectively communicate
* Ability to work safely with hand tools and specialized test equipment.
* Ability to learn from others on the job and can teach basic skills to new hires or interns.
** EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
*** Academic work or military training with emphasis in the following disciplines: mathematics, anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, chemistry, electronic theory, medical terminology, English, computer and networking peripherals, and professional skills.
* Associate’s degree preferred
* CABT or CBET certification preferred
** EXPERIENCE
* ** Six months experience working in a inpatient hospital or health care facility preferred.

*** Able to stand, climb, stoop, bend frequently; positions require considerable physical activity.

* Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces.
* Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs.
* Needs adequate color vision. Must wear protective clothing as required.
* Must have sensory ability to distinguish hot, cold, range of temperatures, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and detect/distinguish odors.
* May be required to travel to various locations.
* Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
