- Ability to stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Experience with third-party payroll systems and software
- Familiarity with government regulations related to payroll and employee benefits
- Background in training or mentoring payroll department staff
- Experience in conducting audits related to payroll processes
