TITLE: Data Engineer II

TYPE: Contract

LOCATION: 100% Remote

ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: Remote

START DATE: February 2026

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions that support analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning initiatives. This role focuses on developing reliable data pipelines and cloud-based architectures that transform raw data into trusted, high-quality assets used across the organization.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Architect cloud-based data platforms that enable analytics, reporting, and advanced data use cases
  • Analyze business and technical needs to determine required data sources and structures
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines that integrate data from multiple systems
  • Load and manage curated datasets within data warehouses and real-time analytics environments
  • Design and implement data transformations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance
  • Prepare data for downstream consumption by analytics tools, dashboards, and reporting systems
  • Write production-ready code with appropriate testing, version control, and deployment practices
  • Automate recurring data processes and support continuous integration and delivery workflows
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Azure Data Engineer certification is preferred
  • Hands-on background working with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Proven experience in data engineering and cloud-based data platforms, particularly within Azure
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics tools such as Databricks or Alteryx
  • Strong understanding of designing, building, and optimizing high-volume data pipelines
  • Comfortable presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, including PySpark for distributed data processing
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, frameworks, and engineering practices
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Exposure to data governance or visualization platforms such as Purview, Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau is preferred
  • Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL, Java, or SAS is preferred
  • Experience with performance- and security-focused data modeling techniques is a plus
  • Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Dev Ops is a plus
