We are seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable data pipelines that enable effective use of enterprise data. In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineers, analysts, and data stewards to deliver reliable datasets and models that support analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
What You’ll Be Doing- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations across legacy and cloud systems.
- Model, store, and transform data to support analytics, reporting, and downstream applications.
- Build API-based and file-based integrations across enterprise platforms.
- Ensure compliance with federal security and data governance frameworks (
HIPAA
, NIST
, RMF
, CMMC
). - Implement monitoring, logging, and data quality checks for reliable, scalable pipelines.
- Partner with analysts and data science teams to deliver trusted,
AI-ready datasets
. - Support data migration and integration initiatives across enterprise systems.
- Maintain schema management, data lineage, and documentation to support audit and traceability.
- Troubleshoot ingestion, pipeline, and data quality issues.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform development.
- Strong SQL and experience with relational databases (
PostgreSQL
, Oracle
, SQL Server
, etc.). - Hands-on with ETL/ELT tools (
Talend preferred;
Apache Spark
, Apache Airflow
, dbt
, or Informatica
). - Experience with modern data platforms (
Snowflake
, Redshift
, Big Query
, or equivalent). - Proficiency in Python or similar for building and automating pipelines.
- Experience operating in cloud environments (
AWS preferred, including Gov Cloud-style environments
). - Understanding of data lake or lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with security and compliance in federal or healthcare environments (
HIPAA
, NIST
, RMF
). - Strong problem-solving skills working with large, complex datasets.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (
FHIR
, HL7
, or OMOP
). - Experience with Databricks or Jupyter
. - Exposure to ML pipelines or advanced analytics.
- Prior experience supporting DHA or federal healthcare programs.
